The flavour of Independence Day rules our fun cover, designed specially by Savio Mascarenhas. It also inspired us to come out with a delightful article, the ‘Indian Masketeers’, exploring Indian culture through its various masks. We also have ‘Dotty and the Albino Dragon’, the First Prize winning story in the Tinkle Original Story Competition. Moving on, we have three popular characters this issue, Shikari Shambu, Kalia the Crow and the Defective Detectives. Shambu goes on a rollicking ‘Jumbo Adventure in Assam’ while the Defective Detectives have a spine-chilling experience in ‘The Horror’. A special ‘thank you’ to teachers everywhere, this issue sees Suppandi in a new avatar. You’ve got it! As a teacher in ‘School Rules’. That’s not all. Teachers rule in our It Happened to Me, Spotlight and Great Tinkle Circus segments. The IHTM compiles the Tinkle Team’s favourite memories of their teachers. Spotlight has us in a tête-à-tête with college principal, Dr. Beena Punjabi. As for the GTC, it is filled with dedications from students to teachers!This month, we also have Ajay, Dental Diaries, Kalia the Crow and Shikari Shambu giving Suppandi company. Ajay and Neeti tackle a new adventure in ‘Underground Secret’. Not to be left behind, Billy sets out to rescue his mother but ends up in a trap! Read all about it in ‘New Dangers’. This July is the Olympic Special and we have not one, not two, but three features on the Games! What’s more, one of the features has all your favourite Tinkle Toons participating in what we’d like to call Tinkl(e)ympics. Besides, Tantri the Mantri has a run-in with a fortune-teller, the Defective Detectives are flummoxed by a new case while Little Suppandi tries his hand at numbers. All this and more, the July issue is a keeper for sure.

What does February have in store for you? There are the mad capers of Butterfingers and the Defective Detectives. We also have the story that won the third prize at the 16th Tinkle Original Story Competition, ‘Cyber Friend’. Our beloved character, Anwar returns with this issue and what else? Butterfingers and Pyarelal are back with the June issue. Butter tries his hand at playing doctor while Pyarelal is busy following footprints around his village. We also have another famous scene from literature and this time it is the turn of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. This May we have a new series for you — Pranav’s Dadi, tales about a very special lady. We also have the second instalment of our SuperWeirdos series Thwacks. The wacky quotient continues with At the Dentists’ and the Sea Diaries story Letting Go, and for those who love the classics, we have Painting the Fence in Famous Scenes from Literature.
